Battery Diagnostic

Not sure if it's the battery or something else? We run a full diagnostic — checking voltage, cell health, BMS output and charging circuit — and tell you exactly what's wrong before any work starts. Diagnostic fee is included in the repair cost if you go ahead.

Unbalanced cells cause reduced range, unexpected shutdowns and accelerated degradation. We balance the cells across the pack to restore even charge distribution and bring back lost range.

Loose, damaged or corroded charging ports are one of the most common battery issues. We replace the port and check the charging circuit to make sure everything is working correctly.

The Battery Management System controls charging, discharging and cell protection. A faulty BMS can cause the battery to cut out, refuse to charge or drain too fast. We repair or replace it depending on the fault.

Dead or weak cells don't mean you need a new battery. We open the pack, identify and replace the failed cells, rebalance and reseal. Significantly cheaper than a full replacement and extends pack life.

Custom builds use high-quality cells and are assembled to order in the UK. In most cases they outperform the original stock battery for a similar or lower price than a brand replacement.

Common questions

Battery repair FAQ

My scooter won't charge — is it definitely the battery?

Not necessarily. A charging fault can come from the port, the charger, the BMS or the cells themselves. We run a diagnostic first to pinpoint the exact cause before recommending any repair — £20, included in the repair cost if you go ahead. No guesswork, no unnecessary parts.

My range has dropped significantly — can it be fixed?

In many cases yes. Reduced range is usually caused by degraded or unbalanced cells. Balancing can restore lost range on packs that aren't too far gone. If individual cells have failed, replacing just those cells is often enough to bring the pack back to good performance without replacing the whole battery.

Is it worth repairing my battery or should I just replace it?

Depends on the fault. A bad BMS, a failed charging port or a few dead cells are all economical to fix. If the majority of cells have degraded significantly, a full replacement or custom build usually makes more sense. We'll give you an honest assessment after the diagnostic.

What is a BMS and why does it matter?

BMS stands for Battery Management System. It's the electronics board inside your battery pack that controls how it charges, discharges and protects the cells from damage. A faulty BMS can cause the battery to cut out under load, refuse to charge, drain faster than normal or in some cases damage the cells. It's one of the most common battery faults we see.

How does a custom battery build work?

We take your scooter's deck measurements, note your current battery spec and discuss your range and power requirements. We then work with our UK battery builder to spec the right pack — right voltage, capacity and form factor to fit your scooter. The pack is built to order and we fit it once it arrives.
